Fall brings a renewed sense of energy to Platinum Point Yacht Club, as we welcome our snowbirds back home, reconnect with friends, and kick off another season filled with camaraderie, waterfront gatherings, and memorable experiences. There’s plenty to look forward to at PPYC.
Mark your calendars for these exciting upcoming events:
ADOPT A CHILD — A LONG-STANDING PPYC TRADITION

For many years, PPYC has partnered with East Elementary School to support local families during the holidays. Beginning November 10, our Tree of Giving will feature tags representing 36 children from 19 families. Members and the Burnt Store Marina community are invited to participate. Wrapped gifts are due by December 4. This cherished tradition is a wonderful way to begin the holiday season.
PPYC ANNUAL MEETING & DINNER
The official start of our new club year begins on November 19, when the Board of Directors hosts the Annual Meeting from 8 to noon. This time-honored tradition brings members together to review the past year, conduct club business, and look ahead to the season ahead. The agenda includes officer and committee reports, elections, and other matters important to the membership.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day is the Change of Command Ceremony, during which the Commodore and Flag Officers formally pass their responsibilities to the incoming Bridge. The ceremony honors the dedication of outgoing leaders while welcoming new officers who will guide the Club forward.
The celebration continues that evening with the Annual Dinner.
OVERNIGHT CRUISES — ADVENTURE AWAITS

The overnight cruise schedule is already taking shape — and filling quickly!
Current destinations include Naples City Marina, Pink Shell Beach Resort, Tween Waters Island Resort, and Boca Grande, with several destinations still to be announced.
PPYC typically schedules up to eight overnight cruises each year, visiting a variety of Southwest Florida marinas. These popular getaways feature docktails, dockside grilling, group dinners, desserts, and plenty of time to relax and enjoy one another’s company.
Depending on the destination, cruisers may enjoy amenities such as pools, beaches, bocce ball, and more. Best of all, you don’t need a boat to participate. Many destinations offer overnight accommodation, making it easy for everyone to join in the fun.
Add sailing races, Mahjong, Bridge, Sunset Socials, Happy Hours, Yoga, kayaking, and much more, and the season is off to a great start.

VETERANS DAY SUNDOWNER CEREMONY

On Wednesday, November 11, Platinum Point Yacht Club is planning a special Sundowner Flag Ceremony honoring America’s veterans, to be held in the late afternoon and concluding at sunset. The meaningful program will combine a brief patriotic tribute recognizing the service and sacrifice of veterans with the Club’s traditional sunset flag ceremony. Members and guests will have an opportunity to gather in reflection, gratitude, and shared respect as the day comes to a close. For more details, please visit ppycbsm.org.
EDUCATIONAL EVENT — CAPTAINS FOR CLEAN WATER

Open to the public on December 7 from 7–9 p.m., this presentation by longtime Southwest Florida resident Bob Beville will highlight current issues and developments affecting Charlotte Harbor and surrounding waters.
This promises to be an engaging and informative evening for anyone who cares about the future of Southwest Florida’s waters. Register to attend by calling 941-639-0733
