The Burnt Store Anglers was founded by a group of 18 anglers who enjoyed fishing and sharing information 22 years ago. Since that time, over 150 men and woman have enjoyed the programs and events sponsored by the Anglers. Dedicated to providing programs on Fishing Techniques, Boating Safety, and Harbor Conservation, programs are offered monthly.
The Burnt Store Anglers meet the first Monday of each month, October through May, at the Tiki Hut next to the Cass Cay Restaurant and Trading Post. Since the club’s inception, the annual dues are just $10 per family, or $75 for a lifetime membership.
All folks interested in fishing are welcome. Some of its activities include lectures from well-known fishing guides, fishing tackle shops and equipment manufacturers, and Fish and Wildlife Officials. We publish a monthly Tight Lines article in the community paper The Beacon. If you are interested in learning how to fish in Charlotte, the Anglers offer their fishing school to all members.
The anglers have been the proud sponsor of the Guy Harvey Ultimate Shark Tournament, held at our local marina, the Fish from the Wall Tournament, and the Golf and Cast Nine Hole and Fishing Tournament. All proceeds of the club’s events go to conservation and charity organizations of our local area.
