We wanted to give everyone a golf course update, as we are continuing to have issues with water. As we stated previously in late June, our electric line that feeds the pump house was clipped by the boring company that was hired to bring the water from the new well to the golf course irrigation pond. LCEC came out the next day to repair the line but realized that they couldn’t fix it and had to run a new line. Not knowing how long that would take them, we decided to bring in a generator to run the pump house. From the time the power was cut to getting the generator in was about six days and in that time, we had no rain. This lack of water on the course in mid-summer put a lot of stress on the greens. Once power was restored, along with the continued lack of rain, we started having problems with our pump station. We water at night and many nights our system is tripping which shuts the entire pump house down. Pro Pump (our pump maintenance company) has been out here many times along with our Burnt Store electrician and the conclusion is that one of our motors is bad. The new motor has been ordered and should be in soon. We are working diligently to restore our golf course to the conditions that we are all used to and we appreciate your patience as we work through this difficult situation.
