We wanted to give everyone a golf course update as we are having some issues out there. In late June, our electric line that feeds the pump house was clipped by the boring company that was hired to bring the water from the new well to the golf course irrigation pond. LCEC came out the next day to repair the line but realized that they couldn’t fix it and had to run a new line. Not knowing how long that would take them, we decided to bring in a generator to run the pump house. From the time the power was cut to getting the generator in was about six days and during that time, we had no rain. The lack of water on the course has put a lot of stress on the greens and we are seeing that manifest in some poor grass coverage in several different spots. Our new superintendent, Jarett Ford, is fully aware of the situation and he will be able to address those weaker areas as we go through this next acrification. We will continue to do what’s necessary to get the greens back to the condition that we have all grown used to. Thank you all for your understanding!!
